YMDRAB organized three herbarium exhibitions of forest plants - in Hight school "Acad. Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov" Botevgrad (10-16.02.2021), in the community center "Todor Peev - 1871" in Etropole (17-23.02.2021) and in the Historical Museum Pravets (09 -15.03.2021). Each of the exhibitions presented 160 herbariums of different forest species (trees, shrubs, herbs, ferns and mosses), which young people from Botevgrad created under project "For everyone saved a tree".

Forest scientists from Sofia University and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences took part in opening events of the exhibitions. They made presentations on the importance of creating and protecting forests, on valuable forest species (species with conservation status, medicinal and honey plants) and on dangers of alien and invasive species. The scientists also introduced visitors to information about some interesting plants presented in the exhibitions.

Furthermore, 150 forest herbariums made by Serbian youth under the project were presented by video presentation, and Serbian experts and young people took part online in the opening of each of the exhibitions.

Dr. Yonko Dodev (project manager) summarized the completed and upcoming project activities, and highlighted the special place that the forest takes in the national identity and culture of Bulgarians.

The herbarium exhibitions are implemented under project “For everyone saved a tree (FOREST)”. The project is co-funded by EU through the Interreg-IPA CBC Bulgaria–Serbia Programme.
